Known as the town of the three lies: she is not holy, neither flat nor has sea, Santillana del Mar.(1) It will take us back to medieval times while we walk through its cobbled streets where we will find historical-artistic heritage.

Once arrived at the place, we will start from Juan Infante Street (2), that will take us back several centuries through its stone houses with wrought iron and wood balconies, in addition to their coats of arms and family shields carved on their facades.

The second day of the visit we will walk to one of the most attractive towns in Cantabria for being surrounded by spectacular mountains between rivers and streams., pots (1).

Its old town has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest. Its streets, crossed by numerous bridges, they have buildings and monuments of numerous centuries of history since it was the manor of the infante Tello in the fourteenth century, and from 1445 belonged to the Marquis of Santillana.

The buildings of interest stand out, such as the Tower-house of Orejón de la Lama (2), the parish church of San Vicente (3) whose constructive elements it possesses are from the fourteenth century to the eighteenth century.

Following the walk through the quiviesa river (4) we will find the crossing of several old bridges known as the one of San Cayetano (5) y from jail (6)

Another of the most emblematic sites is the Infantry Tower (7) which was the solar house of Íñigo López de Mendoza, the Marquis of Santillana. A large masonry building with five floors and a roof terrace surrounded by cornices of modillions.

We cannot leave this wonderful town without trying its gastronomy in one of its establishments to taste dishes such as Lebanese stew and game meat stews. Besides, if we want to get hold of some souvenir, every Monday they exhibit a traditional market rooted in the region.

On the second day we will tour the historic center. The first stop will be Palace of Festivals (1) to find out where theater cycles are held, operas. dance and music.

Nearby is the Cantabrian Maritime Museum (2), full of maritime history exhibits with whale skeletons, an aquarium and a restaurant overlooking the bay.

Then we will get to know the impressive Santander City Council (3) for its outstanding architecture. We will also visit the Porticada Square (4) and then we'll head to the Santander Wall (5), an archaeological museum.

We will continue the visit heading towards the Santander Cathedral (6), two churches decorated with gothic elements and ancient statues.

To rest and regain strength, we can walk around the area Asuncion Square (7) and enter some of its establishments with gastronomic offers.
